India moves ahead to fight with Corona virus and boost it’s economy after 5 different lock-downs. After nationwide lock-down from 23rd March, government started to unlock different areas of country from 1st June in phases to boost economy again. From today on 8th-June, restrictions are lifted on most of shopping malls, restaurants, and religious places with certain guidelines. Still many areas in different states are becoming containment zone and number of positive cases of corona virus increases day by day. Since last few days the country has recorded around 9K positive corona virus cases daily.
Schools and colleges were shut down and board examinations were postponed when nationwide lock-down was implemented on March 23rd due to corona virus pandemic. Now, after more than 60 days of lock-down and amid corona virus cases Indian HRD ministry is yet not in plan to reopen schools for new academic session. As per latest updates, Union Cabinet Minister for Human Resource Development Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that schools which were remained closed since March are likely to reopen after 15th August if situation is conducive and Home Ministry permits. Results of the pending CBSE Examinations can be expected by mid of August and then new academic session will start.
Earlier, by May end, it was thought to reopen schools and colleges in July with smaller attendance. But as corona virus cases keep increasing in recent days ministry came out with official statement of that there is no decision to reopen school in near time.
